Arboriculture Manager

Fairways Contracting Limited are looking to appoint a full time experienced arboriculturist with tree survey experience to head its busy tree surgery department. The role will require you to undertake tree surveys for our large Midlands client base of schools, businesses, sports clubs, and domestic customers, prepare quotations for any work, and arrange the work to be undertaken by one of our teams of tree surgeons.

The successful candidate will have a nationally recognised qualification in Arboriculture and a professional tree inspection qualification. Ability to monitor contracts and use AutoCAD or similar are essential along with the preparation of risk assessments/method statements and tender packages.

We are looking to embark on Arboriculture Association accreditation for the company and you will be expected to assist in this and in increasing the size of the department both in terms of staff and turnover.

The applicant will manage profitability of the contracts/tree department and ensure that the standard of service delivery is not compromised.

Salary is in the region of £35k dependant on experience and qualifications.

Experienced Fencer

Fairways Contracting Limited are looking to appoint an experienced fencer to install domestic, commercial and sports/agricultural fencing on a range of both small and large fencing projects. Ideally you experienced operative needing no supervision or guidance and is able to install fencing to specification/ drawings, have experience in the use of excavator augers, tractor mounted post knockers and tracked post knockers.

The successful applicant will be part of a two-man team. Based at our yard in Hockley Heath, Solihull but the work will be in around Solihull and the Midlands.

Hours are 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday but with occasional overtime/weekend working when required.

Additional requirements for this post are a valid driving licence and trailer licence. Ideally, you will also possess 7.5 ton licence and Chainsaw Certificate 7.

Hard Landscaper Operative

We require a number of experienced  hard landscapers to undertake a wide variety of work on both domestic and commercial projects. Based at our yard in solihull, projects will be local and within the west midlands.

Hard Landscaper Operatives previous experience is required with experience of:

Building walls




There may be an element of soft landscaping works also.

We also carry out large scale sports field/golf course and earthmoving works.

Hard Landscaper Operative applicants must have:

  • Valid driving licence
  • A CSCS card. Experience and certificates (CPCS or NPORS) for operation of dumpers, excavators, rough terrain forklift trucks would be desirable.

We will also be interested in applicants from the civil engineering sector.
